Once in front of the structure, you would be overwhelmed by the towering temple. Even the big gate that welcomes everyone provides a picture perfect oppurtunity. Don’t worry, every one is welcome to come in and no fees are collected to enter the premises.

To reach the top of the Taoist Temple of Cebu, you have to take 99 steps. Take your time as there are sights to look out like the aviary and the Cebu City skyline which is just fantastic. Bring your water just in case you need some refreshments on your way up. When you are near the main entrance of the temple, there is a platform or more like a rest area where you could sit and catch your breath. Look a little up in front and you’d see the emanating presence of the main temple. Look behind you and you’ll see a wonderul view of Cebu City.

If you take the final steps to reach the main temple, you’d be amaze of how wonderful the place is. It is a perfect refuge away from the busy and stressful city life. The wonderful architectural designs of the whole place with the dragon designs on the roof are all new to me. It is really wonderul to look at and to take pictures of. The gentle cool breeze while looking at the city provides a feeling of calmness and peace of mind.

Like most Taoist tradition, people could also get their future read here in the Taoist Temple of Cebu. A monk equipped with fortune sticks inside the temple facilitates this practice. Right outside the temple, there is an area where you can sit and just appreciate the view.
