Hotels and resorts in Baloy Beach Subic

Submitted by Iwind on January 25, 2009 – 10:04 am5 Comments

I have been to Baloy Beach close to Subic many times, and stayed in several of the hotels and resorts here. All the hotels and resorts mentioned here are places that I recommend, unless stated otherwise. What I take into consideration is value for your money, location, service and the standard of the rooms and the hotel in general. The price given in the first paragraph is the price for their standard room.

Treasure Island Resort
Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barretto, Philippines 2200
Tel: (047) 223-8890
Website: http://www.mossubic.com/TI.html
Price: 2,200 peso

treasureislandbaloyThis is my favourite resort in Baloy Beach now. I have stayed here 3 times and enjoyed myself each time. They have a beautifull swimming pool here, a 24 hours open bar just by the pool and also a floating bar in the sea outside. The location is on the beach in Baloy, so you can just step out of your room and you’re on the beach, very convinient.

The price is a little higher than other acommodation here starting at 2,200 peso for their cheapest room, but you get what you pay for as this resort is very nice. They have aircon in all the rooms, minibar and wireless internet. You can even sit on the beach using their wifi if you wish. The people working there are very friendly and the service is good.

Kokomos Beach Resort
Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barretto, Philippines 2200
Tel: (047) 223-7902
Website: http://www.mossubic.com/Kokomos.html
Price: 1,500 peso

baloykokomosegypt1This resort has the same owners as Treasure Island, and thus the same website. They don’t have a swimming pool like Treasure Island does, but you can just walk 10 metres and use the one in Treasure Island so it shouldn’t be a problem. They have wireless internet here both in the rooms and in the little restaurant by the beach.

I really love the rooms here. Each room has a special theme, like the love room, the Egyptian room, the pirate room, etc. They have really put a lot of work into the design of these room, just look at the picture from the Egyptian room that I’ve posted. The standard rooms cost 1,500 peso, while you have to pay a little more for larger rooms, I think I payed about 3,000 peso for the Egyptian room. It was well worth it though, I really felt like a King there sitting in my jacuzzie with a beer.

Harleys Pub and Hotel
Baloy Beach, Barrio Barretto, Olongapo city 2200
Tel: (926) 652-0171
Website: http://www.harleyspub.com/
Price: 1,000 peso

harleysbaloyThis hotel is the one I stayed at my first time in Baloy Beach. The place features a 24 hours open bar and they also have an excellent restaurant serving real good food. The place is run by people from Sweeden, and being from Norway that may be why I like the food here that much. The bar is a very popular hangout for people who enjoy watching sports, as they have a big screen TV with sattelite and cable in the bar.

The rooms are fairly cheap and give you good value for your money. The regular rooms are only 1,000 peso while the ocean view rooms are at 1,500 peso. They have aircon in every room, as well as free wireless internet. The service here is good and when it comes to location it’s close to both the beach in Baloy as well as the nightlife scene in Barrio Baretto.

If you have any other hotels to recommend, or any input on those already mentioned here, feel free to leave a comment.

I am the owner of Treasure Island and Kokomo’s and want to thank you for the very nice review of our places. Recently we acquired Dryden Hotel and Restaurant. It has been in operation since 1989 and is an icon in the Barretto area. We have 9 rooms and one of the most popular restaurants in the region.

Next time you visit, please introduce yourself to me, our GM Joe or the hotel GM, Patrick.

I will do that, and maybe check out Dryden next time I’m there as well. I usually have a trip to Baloy each time I’m in the Philippines, it’s so easy getting there just taking a taxi from Manila after all.
